An Argentinian artist based in Marseille, Carlos Kusnir has spent four decades developing a unique oeuvre that pushes the limits of painting. With a deep-seated irreverence, he moves from printing techniques to collage as a means of raising his work beyond the surface, to establish art in three-dimensions, often with an additional sonic component, all infused with tenderness, humour, discipline, and both our historical struggles and the anxieties of day-to-day existence.
This exhibition, a one-of-a-kind collaboration between the FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur public art collection and Triangle France at the Friche la Belle de Mai cultural complex, is spread across two locations and offers a non-chronological perspective of the artist by mixing a selection of his most important work with new creations.
