GEOFFROY COUTEAU RECITAL

Part of the Salon-de-Provence International Chamber Music Festival

Geoffrey Couteau

Abbaye de Sainte Croix,
Salon-de-Provence

The Salon-de-Provence International Chamber Music Festival has been organized annually since 1992 by a trio of internationally renowned musicians: the clarinetist Paul Meyer, the pianist Éric Le Sage, and the flautist Emmanuel Pahud. It is a key event on the summer musical calendar in Provence and is celebrated for its unique and convivial atmosphere. The festival welcomes roughly 30 musicians, from major international soloists that play in the most respected orchestras to highly regarded young talents that will shape the genre in the future.

The music is played out in an atmosphere of friendship and this is one of the most attractive features of the festival. The event is something of a reunion for these widely travelled musicians, who take deep pleasure in being able to play music together outside of more institutional settings.

1st Prize, International Johannes Brahms Competition, 2005

Most recently, Geoffroy Couteau has recorded all of Brahms’ works for the piano for the La Dolce Volta label. His work was recognised as one of the best recordings for 2016.
